Review by Crystal Collins

Throw The Chains Away is the twelfth studio album by American rock band REO Speedwagon, released in 1991. The album is a mix of rock and ballads, with a focus on the band's signature sound of guitar-driven rock.

The album opens with "Throw The Chains Away", a hard-hitting rock anthem that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The band's trademark harmonies are on full display in "Love Is A Rock", while "Can't Get You Out Of My Heart" is a heartfelt ballad that showcases lead singer Kevin Cronin's emotive vocals.

Other standout tracks include "Break His Spell", a catchy rock number with a memorable chorus, and "I Don't Want To Lose You", a soaring ballad that features beautiful piano and guitar work.

R.I.P. one of the greatest rock guitarists that ever lived, Gary Richrath...very much missed and who will never be forgotten...keep rockin' Gary!
A great song - from when they actually rocked. Little known as compared to the Kevin Cronin crap.
Awesome group REO Speedwagon one of my favorite songs
Sweet one of my favorite songs
Awesome song one of my favorites .
They should never have let Kevin back in. He destroyed REO. Love the early songs best. MikecMurphy had a good voice and between him and Gary, they could have made REO awesome. Wish Gary did more singing too, cus he had a great voice. In my honest opinion, Gary was so against the way the band was turning, that he had to drink in order to play it. I don't think he knew how to deal with it. He will always be missed...RIP Gary...
It's great to hear this again! Classic REO was some golden stuff! Mike Murphy is too awesome, and listen to Neal pound those keys!
this is when they were at there best i always liked mike murphy much better then cronin he made that band rockin no love ballots they went away from there pure sound in mid to late 80s Gary hated and left now there just bad nothing against amato he nothing compared to gary he was not only a great guitar player but a great song writer i think he's a good singer never knew why he only sang from 73 to 76 and nothing after
I was sittin' on a plane, I was lookin' at the dreary day
I saw somebody, she was sittin' just an aisle away
She was a first class lady, and I knew that she looked refined
My heart started thumpin' louder than the engine whine

I got the sky blues, I'm up in the air
Runnin' from a lady who just don't care
And all I want to do is get down to earth with you
Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo, I got the sky blues
Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo, I got the sky blues

Well, I sat down beside her and I told her I was feeling blue
I said, my girl don't want me and it's breaking my heart in two
Well I felt so bad that I didn't even stick around, I said
We may be flying but heart's draggin' on the ground
Thanks for uploading this. A really great song.
