The album REO Speedwagon by the band of the same name is a classic rock masterpiece that has stood the test of time. Released in 1971, the album features some of the band's most iconic hits, including "Ridin' the Storm Out" and "157 Riverside Avenue."

The album opens with the hard-hitting "Gypsy Woman's Passion," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The band's signature sound, characterized by Gary Richrath's soaring guitar riffs and Kevin Cronin's powerful vocals, is on full display throughout the album.

Rock band from Champaign, Illinois, USA. They named the band , from the REO Speed Wagon, a 1915 truck that was designed by Ransom Eli Olds. Doughty had seen the name written across the blackboard when he walked into his History of Transportation class on the very first day they had decided to look for a name. Rather than pronouncing REO as a single word as the motor company did, they chose to spell out the name with the individual letters each pronounced ("R-E-O"). Formed in 1967, the band cultivated a following during the 1970s and achieved significant commercial success throughout the 1980s. (1980) contained four US Top 40 hits and is the group's best-selling album, with over ten million copies sold.

Had the pleasure to see REO 4 times throughout the 80s in Colorado either in Boulder or Denver; the concerts were called "sunday #1, sunday #2 ect....anyway, loved the band but I do believe like many Nine Lives was last good studio album. The live REO (forgot the name) wore that 8 track out in the day! LOL

Great song! I remember my uncle giving me this used album of his in 1980. I always enjoyed the Nine Lives album. I just played it this week in my car.
