Review by Alfredo Gordo

The album Два Квартета by Квартет им Танеева С Прокофьев, Б Бриттен is a masterpiece of classical music. The quartet, consisting of violinists Sergei Krylov and Tatiana Samouil, violist Vadim Perminov, and cellist Ivan Monighetti, delivers a stunning performance of two of the most challenging and complex quartets in the classical repertoire.

The first quartet on the album is Sergei Prokofiev's String Quartet No. 1 in B minor, Op. 50. The quartet's interpretation of this work is nothing short of breathtaking. They capture the intensity and drama of the piece, while also bringing out the subtleties and nuances of Prokofiev's writing. The quartet's playing is precise and controlled, but also full of emotion and expression.

The second quartet on the album is Benjamin Britten's String Quartet No. 3, Op. 94. This work is known for its intricate counterpoint and complex harmonies, and the quartet does an excellent job of navigating the piece's many challenges. They bring out the beauty and lyricism of the piece, while also highlighting its darker and more introspective moments.
