Review by Chris Staines

The album In Portuguese We Say Padrada by Stones Of Babylon is a unique blend of different genres that creates a refreshing and captivating sound. The band's use of traditional Portuguese instruments, such as the cavaquinho and the accordion, adds a distinct flavor to the music that sets it apart from other rock albums.

The album's opening track, "Cinco Dias," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its upbeat tempo and catchy melody. The band's use of harmonies and layered vocals throughout the album adds depth and texture to the music, making it feel rich and full.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Fado," which showcases the band's ability to seamlessly blend traditional Portuguese music with rock. The song features a beautiful duet between lead singer João Pires and guest vocalist Mariza, creating a haunting and emotional sound.

About Stones Of Babylon

Portuguese band from the milennarian city Lisbon, plenty of cosmic inspiration, with one foot in the past, another in the future, the head in the present and the expanding soul, like the universe. Started in 2017 and plays instrumental stoner mantra doom, inspired by myths and history. Stoner on the mother side and Doom on the father side.
