João Vitor was born on November 3, 1994 in the municipality of Américo Brasiliense, in the state of São Paulo. The nickname 'Jão' came from his sister who had called him by that name since they were children. During his childhood, Jão had as an artistic reference the singer Marisa Monte and the singer Cazuza and others, who influenced him to show his talent in performances in the school theater and take lessons in instruments such as guitar, keyboard and even flute. Thus, Jão began to compose and produce alone in his room in the interior of São Paulo. At 17, he moved to São Paulo to study advertising at USP, and even sang in bars and karaoke to get money. The incentive to start a professional job came from his friends Pedro Tófani and Renan Silva (who now form UFO, the company that directs his career), who encouraged him - and helped him - to make music videos for YouTube. The singer said that bullying he suffered at school was the decisive reason for becoming a singer.
