Disco Inferno's album, The Last Dance, is a bold and daring exploration of the electronic music genre. The album features a mix of haunting vocals, electronic beats, and experimental sounds that create a unique listening experience. The songs on the album are diverse, ranging from the upbeat and danceable "Summer's Last Sound" to the melancholic and introspective "The Long Dance."

Every step that we tread
The dead are behind us
Throwing shadows out over our heads
And they land far in front of us
No oceans left to cross, no mountains left to climb
'Cause that's what I've been told
And it's got so hard to look around
And see just who can save you if you don't have a pot of gold
Was there ever a time like this?

As the noise of the past
Builds up into a crescendo
The layers of rubbish, wastes, accrue
Are amplified a billion times or more
But our heads just can't cope, as we fall
Into the arms of the waiting mystics
Books burning, barrels turning
A billion wasted futures light up the night sky

Small hopes flash past then wave
While foreign forces wait and pray
And a fear of the future beats so deep in our hearts
That they'll all but destroy ourselves
Like the centuries-old feuds
Being upgraded with high-tech weapons
In the end it's not the future
But the past that'll get us
I always believed that ideas like this cost lives
That's why I was always in line for the sacrifice
But now my eyes point ahead
Away from the ghosts of the dead
Sounds like the GoBetweens
D.I. Forever!!
In my top 5 songs of the 90s
una de las canciones más hermosas de los 90's <3
un milagro pop de esos que ya casi no hay
ayy nice icon

this song is good as well
Anyone got dem chords for this song?
life-affirming and flawless poetry
Way fucking above their time
one of the largest and finest groups ever. perhaps the choice not to alter and sacrifice their sound and their uniqueness for the sake of music glory,be the secret .. musical treasure for the few who were lucky enough to discover.Perfection
fukking love that ending. Wish it went on longer. This sounds brand new but it's almost 20 years old!
this is insanely good. i want to cover this song!!!!!!!!!!!!
@SeanMR72 i was listening them a bit later, around 96. Cassettes with them, Seefeel, Bowery Electric, MBV, Slowdive, those were the days.
@ThatLovelyEnglishBob. Glad someone else agrees. Seemed like i was the only person in the world listening to this gem in 1994
Would've been number one for 20 weeks in an ideal world. Pop perfection

their only pop song, a masterpiece, the alternate version called "long dance" is even better
My favorite by them. Ominous lyrics set against a backdrop of beautiful guitar lines and melody. Just love this.
Target aquired. Pure hymn.
This is my favorite song right now.
I listened to this today while driving my car on a rainy night. It was a simple but rewarding musical experience. I think the soundscapes that D.I created resemble those real and simple moments in life
So so so hauntingly beautiful
To be frank, I think that this band had little originally ultimately, which is why they disappeared, along with so many of the 1993-5 'post-rock' school. At best, they were all the more indie cousins of the contemporary Brit Pop bunch. Hopelessly effete and unmemorable vocals don't help.
Soooo beautiful
