Days of the New's self-titled album is a masterpiece of alternative rock. Released in 1997, it was a fresh and unique sound in a sea of grunge and nu-metal. The album was the brainchild of Travis Meeks, who wrote, performed, and produced the entire album himself.

The album opens with "Shelf in the Room," a haunting acoustic track that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Meeks' voice is raw and emotional, and the lyrics are poignant and introspective. The album continues with "Touch, Peel and Stand," a radio hit that showcases Meeks' ability to write catchy hooks and choruses.

The rest of the album is a mix of acoustic ballads and hard-hitting rock tracks. "The Downtown" is a standout track, with its driving guitar riff and powerful vocals. "Freak" is another great track, with its heavy distortion and grungy feel.
