Review by Olga Smirnova

Concerto For Orchestra by Bartók Leonard Bernstein, New York Philharmonic is an exceptional album that showcases the brilliance of both the composer and the orchestra. The album features Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra, which is one of his most significant works.

Leonard Bernstein, who was a renowned conductor, leads the New York Philharmonic in this album. His interpretation of the music is exceptional, and he brings out the nuances and complexities of the score beautifully.

The music on this album is powerful and dramatic, with moments of intense emotion and stunning virtuosity. The orchestra's playing is impeccable, with a beautiful blend of sound and precision that brings the music to life.

The album also includes several other works by Bartók, including his Dance Suite and the Hungarian Sketches. These pieces are equally impressive and showcase the composer's mastery of orchestration and rhythm.

Born: 1881-03-25 (Nagyszentmiklós, Magyar Királyság). Died: September 26, 1945 (New York, New York, United States). Béla Viktor János Bartók was a Hungarian composer, pianist, ethnomusicologist and collector of Eastern European and Middle Eastern folk music (born 25/03/1881 in Nagyszentmiklós, today Sânnicolau Mare, Romania - died 25/09/1945 in New York, U.S.A). He is considered one of the greatest composers of the twentieth century; his vast production reveals a daring and restless harmonic instinct that is affected by his passionate studies on Hungarian folk songs. Typical elements of Béla Bartók style (derived from Hungarian, Transylvanian and Romanian folklore) consists in the use of irregular rhythms and a clear preference for obsessive rhythms. His compositions have sonorities, sometimes abstract, but often harsh, rough and barbaric. Married to the pianist . His 2nd son, became a recording engineer.
