Founded in 1989, Amores Grup de Percussió is integrated by Pau Ballester, Ángel García and Jesús Salvador "Chapi". Takes its name from the homonymous work of John Cage, composer who has exerted a strong influence on the group and whom he honored at the Autumn Festival of Madrid (1991) counting on his presence. In his long career they have played a decisive role in the evolution of percussion music in Spain, premiering a large part of the work written for percussion and compositions dedicated to the group. Their professional career have always been linked to the work of research, teaching and educational creating percussion auditions for schoolchildren during the last 20 years. The most important international soloists have performed with the group. Our proposals always move between the avant-garde, the contemporary and a direct communication with the public. Our concerts are trips between minimalism and the most resounding sound impact. After choosing the name of the group, one of the works of the versatile John Cage, and paraphrasing his philosophy, our influences are given by experimental music, or experimentation in music, the overwhelming force of tradition and the transgression that supposes the contemporaneity. We are still looking to thrill the public and we continue to give you a new perception of listening to today's music. In their programs are always present works by Steve Reich, John Cage, Thierry de Mey, E. Sejuourne, Xenakis, Takemitsu, LLorenç Barber, Carles Santos, J.S. Chapi, Zivkovic, Westlake, Taïra, Peck, etc.
