  • About Me: Growing up around in the state of dhoklas, fafdas and theplas with a family size of 10, I definitely learned to share all my toys and chocolates with my siblings and cousins. With my father working in cloth mills and mother being a housewife, I survived St. Francis Convent with distinction in Science stream. So basically a Gujju girl with Science background, what would have been a better profession for me other than Information Technology, or so did my father thought. Of course, being a Patel and USA never came into my father’s mind, Impossible! But, I managed to distract his thoughts and finally ended up with Engineering. The first day at college was as usual the day when I met those people who became lifelines in the later part of my life. Being in college, who would not have crushes and relationships. And obviously that first breakup. It wasn’t easy being an engineering student, people (Perhaps relatives, I should say) think you have achieved a lot and then you become role model for your younger siblings and cousins. A role model, really? I was still struggling with grades. Though Engineering opened a new world of reading and writing poems to me which became my break to be a Journalism student now. Yet I was far from what I wanted to achieve. But who likes it easy, Right? After my graduation the first hurdle was to get a job in the field I wasn’t really into. Within a certain time period, I made myself clear to my parents to what I wished for. Though the struggle wasn’t over. I had to convince them that I wanted to learn Journalism and trust me, it wasn’t easy. Hence with so many arguments and some tears I got myself into the world of Media. Starting a new Journey at a new place and that too Mumbai, sounds dramatic? well so was my journey to reach here. But I believed that there is no story to tell if you don’t have challenges to accept and that kept me going.
