Zero Sanity, the alias of Steven Hills, has been infected by the virus of the harder styles since 2002. After visiting various events Steven started to buy his own turntable set as an admirer of the harder styled music in 2003. This new occupation started to evolve quickly as a second lifestyle. On a long-term it became part of his everyday life. It took part of his life so intense, that Steven wanted to perform his mixing skills for various crowds. He started in participating at various DJ contests and tried to perform at small events in the neighborhood. Some good bookings were the result, but it wasnt enough for Steven.
Having a short history of playing the keyboard, Steven started to put a lot of interest in learning how to produce music. In 2006 a collaboration with Josh & Wesz under the alias Bomb Headz resulted in the track Bomb Da Bazz which had been played on numerous events and was published on a few compilations. The good response caused all three to continue and evolve their style. At the end of 2007 Steven made some new productions which were hammered by DJs such as Brennan Heart, DJ Luna, Josh & Wesz and Thilo & Evanti on various events in 2008. Steven started looking for labels possible in releasing his tracks. At that time, StraightOn Recordings was trying to push new talents in releasing tracks on their label and Steven got into contact with them. They provided him an opportunity in releasing several of his new productions.
Finally his first solo tracks were released on vinyl in 2009 on the Next Chapter label; a sublabel of StraightOn Recordings. The vinyl has been released as a two-tracker with on the A-side Superdimp and on the B-side Divine Intervention. The next record was followed only a few months later, as well on the Next Chapter label and was most commonly heard on Mystery Land 2009, where it was played by DJ Luna. The released tracks were Brotherhood and Mindblowing Music.
A few months later Next Chapter became a digital label for which Zero Sanity released the first tracks; the raw / melodic twisted track Psychedelic Substance and a hardstyle remix of the house track Halev Another Night.
After 3 releases on Next Chapter, Zero Sanity released a stomping three-tracker on the Scandanavian Knockout Beatz label. This release was quite diverse, with the melodic Trophy Hunter, the raw and techstyled Substance Over Form and the eerie Paranormal Subjects!
Zero Sanitys sound can be described as quite diverse; mostly melodic, but with a raw twist.
Zero Sanity played not only at various events in the Netherlands, such as in 2009 during Qlimax in the VIP-area, but performed during some abroad gigs as well. For instance, he already played in countries such as Poland, England, Denmark and Hungary.
For the future, you can expect Zero Sanity to bring you more pounding tracks to show himself as a worthy member of the new collective of hardstyle artists.
