Review by Kailash Shankar

Reeds Special by Woody Herman is an exceptional album that showcases the legendary jazz musician's mastery of the saxophone. Released in 1955, the album features a collection of lively and upbeat jazz tunes that are sure to get your feet tapping.

The album starts off with the swinging number "Sidewalks of Cuba," which immediately sets the tone for the rest of the album. The energetic saxophone solos are accompanied by the driving rhythm of the drums and bass, creating a sound that is both exciting and infectious.

Another standout track on the album is "Early Autumn," a beautiful ballad that highlights Herman's ability to play with great sensitivity and emotion. The saxophone melody is hauntingly beautiful, and the lush orchestration adds a touch of elegance to the piece.

Throughout the album, Herman's saxophone playing is nothing short of spectacular. His tone is rich and full, and his solos are always inventive and exciting. The other musicians on the album are also top-notch, and the arrangements are expertly crafted.
