Review by Rick Bulow

The album From East to West by Woody Herman Big Band is a stunning piece of work that showcases the band's versatility and musicianship. The album consists of 11 tracks, each with its unique flavor and style. The band's ability to blend different genres and styles seamlessly is remarkable, and it's evident in tracks like "Caldonia," "Cry Me a River," and "Laura."

What sets this album apart is the way the band incorporates elements of swing, bebop, and Latin jazz into their music. The result is a sound that is both classic and contemporary, making it accessible to a wide range of listeners. The instrumental solos are impressive and demonstrate the band members' mastery of their respective instruments.

The album's production is top-notch, with each track sounding crisp and clear. The arrangements are well-crafted, and the band's tightness is evident throughout the album. The album's title track, "From East to West," is a standout, with its infectious melody and driving rhythm.
