Wilderness Road's album "Sold For Prevention Of Disease Only" is a compelling exploration of the band's unique sound and style. The album features a diverse range of tracks that showcase the band's ability to seamlessly blend elements of folk, country, and rock music.

From the hauntingly beautiful "Lost in the Wilderness" to the upbeat and catchy "Sold for Prevention of Disease Only," each track on the album is a testament to the band's skill as musicians and songwriters. The album's lyrics are thought-provoking and introspective, exploring themes of love, loss, and the human experience.

I've built a new version of this video for George's channel that includes a new video and uses the audio from the "Sold" album.

Regardless of how long a winter it is, or has been, I always have my vinyl copies of the two Wilderness Road albums to keep me company and along with my wonderful wife and two kitties, that ensures a continual supply of warmth.
I'll watch it. Why the posts now? I hear them for the first time on Dec 28th.
how about posting another beauty from this album....Long Winter....amazing tune with lovely pedal steel....
Got a CD of "Sold" with the more acidic "Heavily"! I actually CRIED holding the thing
right in my hands! Never in a million years could this happen! Also got Pure Food &
Drug Act's "Choice Cuts
I'm afraid 2021-2022 is not going to be much better.
Nate Herman, are you still around?! I have "Heavily" on my "Acid Thrills #1" disc,
1st of 16 engineered for road tripping. Played constantly since recording a
cassette in 1977! Tears in my eyes imagining you might actually see this!
Cooler than Beatles, Springsteen, Elvis, ... You & your band are the Cat's Ass!!!
I've got a feeling that winter 2020 / 2021 will qualify .
I have this. Acidier version of this tune though. Part of "The Gospel" I think. All the
best stuff is obscure, underrated, etc., terms that are signs of greatness, as in
Little Feat & Dixie Dregs! Proud to be a LF-DD person! I'll piss my pants if I find out
any Wilderness Road member sees this! I know Jesus & God love this song!
This is as Great as I remember, before I lost my mind.
Thanks for sharing this Wilderness Road "CLASSIC".
I never heard this version before!!  NOW I know what he's saying in the first verse!!

Both of their albums haven't been far from my turntable over the last 42 years.  I have friends all over the country that I "turned on" to the WR and to this day I can show up and we'll greet each other with lines from this song!  No justice in this world at all that they didn't become as huge as they deserved.

If you put the entire "The Gospel" track on YouTube or Soundcloud, I know a number of podcasts where it would get a lot of play.

Haven't heard this in years! Thanks for posting.
Two years on and mine is the ONLY comment? Wilderness Road was the best band in American history that no one's ever heard of! Their debut album got a fantastic write-up in Rolling Stone which led me to seek it out (not easy) and 50 years later it never ceases to blow me away. Maybe they were too smart or witty for their own good but those of us who exhibited those same qualities, both their albums were a godsend in the rock and roll desert of the early and mid 70's.
Both of their albums haven't been far from my turntable over the last 42 years.  I have friends all over the country that I "turned on" to the WR and to this day I can show up and we'll greet each other with lines from this song!  No justice in this world at all that they didn't become as huge as they deserved.

FP: Hey, you were an AWFUL president, but thanks from the bottom of my heart for posting this. Of course I have the two WR albums on vinyl and they've never been far from my turntable for the last 47 years or so, but whenever I want to show some poor benighted soul what a GREAT band they were, nothing is available!
My brother is a blues guitar player and I wanted to hopefully tickle his fancy and thought of this tune immediately! I had a nice correspondence going with Warren Leming for a while and if he sees this, I wish him all the best. These guys were definitely the best band in America for a few years and it's a sin and a shame that they weren't recognized as such!
