So I am 82 and a traditional jazz collector. Anyway, I heard that the original was "Gimme a reefer..." but they would not allow drug references so it was changed. Anyway, Billie Holiday had the most unique singing style that anyone has ever heard. And I have sung in solos, quartets, choirs, and chorales. Okay, look at it this way. It is a collector's item. There is only one. It has some flaws, but overall, we are all better off having this than not having this. Also I thank YouTube and contributors, every night, when I come across a great thing to see and hear. I have been so surprised to hear things that I thought were lost, and then someone posts it to YouTube. Glory, glory, hallelujah !
it needs some rough and tumble ! the goddess bessie smith knocks it out of the park !
We loves you, Billie.
Thank you
