The album "Gershwin An American In Paris" by Toscanini, NBC Symphony Orchestra, and George Gershwin is an exceptional masterpiece that showcases the brilliance of one of America's most renowned composers. The album features a collection of Gershwin's most iconic pieces, including the titular "An American in Paris," "Rhapsody in Blue," and "Cuban Overture."

Toscanini's conducting of the NBC Symphony Orchestra is nothing short of outstanding, with each piece being performed with precision, passion, and energy. The orchestra's flawless execution of Gershwin's intricate compositions highlights the composer's unique ability to blend classical and jazz music seamlessly.

The album's standout performance is undoubtedly "Rhapsody in Blue," which features Gershwin himself on the piano. The piece's sweeping melodies, syncopated rhythms, and jazzy harmonies are a testament to Gershwin's genius and the orchestra's exceptional musicianship.

Though he ran in 1919 unsuccessfully as a Fascist parliamentary candidate in Milan and had been called "the greatest conductor in the world" by Mussolini, he became disillusioned with fascism and left for the United States where the was created for him in 1937.
