Bought this record the same day as my first flight with the SAS SUD Caravelle aircraft. Great record, great plane!!
Still listen to it over and over again, and concider it better than Telstar.
The prequel to Telstar..I bought it. Who remembers it now????????? I do.
This was the tribute to Billy Fury, as, they were his live backing band, before they were the Tornados
Used to listen to this and Jungle Fever back in 1962 at 12 years old. Listen to those guitars, and the musitron organ. Futuristic. Joe Meek was simply too far ahead of everyone, and I wish he was grounded more. However, that is a little like hearing people say "Imagine what Sgt. Peppers would have been if they didn't take acid". I do believe I heard David Gilmore say The Tornados was one of his major influences. You can hear it.
I agree with anyone who says that this song is a "Masterpiece" of Classic Instrumental Rock. The first time this was played on my local AM Station i almost fell out of bed. I bought the Lp and still have it and play it often. My Grandchildren think its cool. So i guess i will just keep on Rocking to one of the Best of The UK Bands to ever cut a groove.
@triforcenerd special sound..so fantastic
i grew up at marketplace. and when this title was at skooter, my car could fly... ;-)
