The Swingle Singers, a renowned vocal ensemble, have released their latest album, Swingling Telemann. The album is a fusion of the Baroque era composer Georg Philipp Telemann's music with the Swingle Singers' signature swing style. The result is a unique and refreshing take on classical music.
The album features 12 tracks, each showcasing the Swingle Singers' impeccable vocal harmonies, scatting, and improvisation skills. The opening track, "Overture," sets the tone for the album with its fast-paced rhythm and intricate vocal arrangements. The album also includes Telemann's famous "Canon in D" and "Concerto in D major," both of which are given a modern twist by the Swingle Singers.
The standout track on the album is "Fantasia in B-flat Major," which features a beautiful combination of Telemann's music and the Swingle Singers' vocal acrobatics. The track is a testament to the Swingle Singers' ability to take a classical piece and make it their own while still honoring the original composer's intent.

I truly love it when talented artists can adapt a classical (er, baroque) piece into a truly new style, while remaining 100% true to the original. Bach himself would hear this as a faithful rendition of his composition!
When I was in high school in the 60s, I bought a Swingle Singers album and fell in love with their sound!! I’ve been wishing I could hear them again, and today, November 15, 2019, I find they’ve been here on YouTube all along!!! Heavenly!!
Boy, Kent you sure have listened to a lot. I never heard of this group. Sure enjoy listening to Bach this way. Although I don’t play a lot of classical anymore, I sure love this!!! Thank you so much.
