Review by Papada Pokinhiranwong

I Suck On That Emotion, the 2003 album by Scene Creamers, is an eclectic mix of punk, funk, and rock that showcases the band's unique sound. The album features 12 tracks, each with its own distinct flavor and style.

The opening track, "Baby's on Fire," sets the tone for the album with its driving beat and catchy guitar riffs. The band's punk influences are evident in tracks like "Kiss Her Once for Me" and "The World Is Mine," while funkier tracks like "I Suck on That Emotion" and "I'm a Monkey" showcase the band's musical versatility.

One standout track is "Teenage Freakshow," a catchy and upbeat song that features a memorable chorus and guitar solo. Another highlight is "Goodbye to the Girl," a slower, more introspective track that shows a softer side of the band.

Comments

This entire album is pure genius (ok, my opinion only but I can think of at least a dozen people who feel the same way and I rarely get out (the implication there in the final thought of my sentence being that there exist many more who feel the same exuberance upon listening to this craftsmanship.) However, most people would skip to the following disc (assuming they had a multi-disc changer,) with the hope that a, perhaps, R. Kelly disc might be waiting in the wings to apply fecal-based salve to their wounded eardrums. Or who knows, maybe it would be the latest Eric Clapton release, or greatest hits of Edie Brickell and the new Bohemians (that would be for me the least unpalatable of the three choices I mentioned.) Now fuck me in the ass and call me Charlie, why do I even waste my time trying to educate people when 1) nobody gives a shit what I think and 2) there is really no reason why anyone should give a shit what I think. I guess I just sort of subconsciously picked this up from Donald Trump; anyone who was positively moved by what I have just written here already thinks pretty much how I do; specifically the thoughts that I'm putting down here, so nobody is any better for having read this and I have just shaved a good 45 minutes from my favorite time of the day - Sleepytime. Yeah, great job Eric , you just spent a good portion of the first part of this day (I believe they called that Two Bells on the old sailing ships) writing a comment that began with my desire to try to express my overwhelming admiration for Scene Creamers or really any of Ian Sevonius projects, and instead allowed it to morph into some kind of a witty retort toward the people that have bought into that easy brand of intellectual laziness that has been infiltrating our society for the last 15 or 20 years. Why why why? I can't even use the excuse then I'm doing too many drugs because I'm not doing any at all... Perhaps therein lies the problem...
Just cause they say it don't mean it's not true...
