Freedom Run by Rifles is a raw and powerful album that showcases the band's ability to blend punk rock, indie rock, and classic rock elements into a cohesive and energetic sound. The album features ten tracks that are all catchy, anthemic, and honest, with lyrics that touch on themes of freedom, rebellion, love, and self-discovery.
From the opening track, "The General," with its driving drums and distorted guitars, to the closing track, "Heebie Jeebies," with its haunting piano melody and poetic lyrics, Freedom Run takes the listener on a thrilling ride that never lets up. The standout tracks include "Catfish," with its infectious chorus and bluesy guitar riffs, "Long Walk Back," with its soaring vocals and epic guitar solos, and "Tangled Up in Love," with its catchy hooks and heartfelt lyrics.
It's just so watered down compared to the first two albums. It really lacks the substance and cutting edge passion that got me into The Rifles in the first place. Also I'm not really a fan of the new band line-up, when I last saw them play, Joel had to take over on bass for a few songs, it just didn't seem right to me at all..
