John Duncan - TVC1

Review by Herb Durgin

TVC1 by John Duncan is a remarkable album that showcases the artist's experimental and avant-garde approach to music. The album is a collection of nine tracks that blend together elements of noise, ambient, and drone music to create a unique and immersive listening experience.

From the opening track "The Immense Room" to the closing piece "The Sleep of Reason," TVC1 takes the listener on a journey through a sonic landscape that is both unsettling and hypnotic. Duncan's use of unconventional sound sources, such as field recordings and found objects, adds an extra layer of texture to the music, creating an otherworldly atmosphere that is both eerie and beautiful.

One standout track on the album is "The Scorching Sun," which features a pulsing rhythm overlaid with distorted vocals and metallic percussion. The result is a haunting and intense piece of music that is both captivating and unnerving.
