Review by Stewart Davenport

Bug Cloth, the latest album from Rabbit MacKay & The Somis Rhythm Band, is a refreshing take on modern folk music. The album is a mix of playful and introspective songs that showcase the band's versatility and unique sound.

From the opening track "Bug Cloth" to the closing track "Fading Away," the album takes the listener on a journey through different moods and emotions. The upbeat and catchy "Little Bird" is a standout track that will have you tapping your feet and singing along.

One of the album's strengths is the band's ability to blend different genres and sounds seamlessly. The use of traditional folk instruments like the banjo and mandolin, combined with modern production techniques, gives the album a fresh and contemporary feel.

Rabbit MacKay's vocals are another highlight of the album. His voice is emotive and full of character, perfectly capturing the essence of each song. The Somis Rhythm Band's tight musicianship and harmonies provide the perfect backdrop for Rabbit's storytelling.

Here David Sueres is playing a fender rhodes!
I agree with KaptKan1 that "Big Sur Country" is the best thing on the lp. Maybe you could post that cut, please.
I remember it...
Should be re-released.
I had this as a single and took it in to play it to the sixth form common room, was playing it, when Stuart Beeny came in with the then just released electric ladyland (single lp version, how uncool is that) took my record off with a dismissive gesture, and put on still raining still dreaming. This did not help my feelings that Hendrix at that time was a bit too comercial and helped to persuade me not to go and see him at the albert hall that year. I still feel this is a great little song,
