Review by Hafizzie Hajini

Phil Garland's album Springtime In The Mountains is a beautiful tribute to the natural beauty of New Zealand's South Island. The album features a collection of traditional and original songs, all celebrating the joys of the spring season.

Garland's voice is warm and inviting, and his guitar playing is masterful. He is accompanied by a talented group of musicians, including fiddler Marian Burns and mandolin player Paul Trenwith. Together, they create a rich and vibrant sound that perfectly captures the spirit of the mountains.

The album's standout tracks include "Springtime In The Mountains", a lively tune that showcases Garland's skill on the guitar, and "The Blue Mountains", a haunting ballad that tells the story of a lost love. Other highlights include "The Kea", a lively instrumental featuring Burns' fiddle, and "The River", a beautiful song about the power and majesty of nature.
