About Ojo Okeji

Minor member of the renowned Lagos's "Cool Cats" band in which he played the claves. had played the double bass in the Cool Cats and given Okeji lessons on the instrument. In 1963 Okeji moved from Lagos to the city of Ibadan, where was the bassist in and then later with fronted by . In 1964 to recruit him as the foundation of his new group (without Fela VC 7) and helped Fela assemble the rest of the band (among which and "Easy"). In 1968 Okeji and Adio secretly absconded from Fela and went to sign up to the army to then later form a new band. Assigned to the 6th Infantry Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Okeji's new band was outfitted in smart blue jackets emblazoned with the number "6
