Malcuzynski Encores is a magnificent album featuring the virtuoso pianist Malcuzynski performing encores from some of the greatest composers of all time. The album contains a superb selection of works from Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Prokofiev, Szymanowski, Paderewski, and Scriabin, all of which are performed with great passion and precision.
Malcuzynski's interpretations of these works are nothing short of breathtaking. His playing is delicate and nuanced when necessary, and bold and powerful when called for. He brings out the beauty and complexity of each piece, making them come alive in a way that few other pianists can.
The album opens with Debussy's Clair de Lune, a hauntingly beautiful piece that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Malcuzynski then moves on to Rachmaninoff's Prelude in G Minor, a piece that showcases his incredible technical skill and emotional depth.
Chopin's Nocturne in E-Flat Major is another standout track, with Malcuzynski's playing capturing the essence of the piece perfectly. The album also features works by Prokofiev, Szymanowski, Paderewski, and Scriabin, all of which are given the same care and attention to detail as the more well-known pieces.

Malcuzynski Encores is a must-have for any fan of classical piano music. Malcuzynski's performances are simply stunning, and the selection of works on the album is superb. This is a truly exceptional album that will be cherished by music lovers for years to come.
Years ago I heard Sviatoslav Richter live in concert playing the second Sonata by Karol Szymanowski. Of course it was spectacular and terrific and I thought by myself Oh my..... how difficult, many many notes but to less singing phrases but Richter played as masterfully as he [almost] always used to play, more than half an hour waves of notes. Here we have another Szymanowski, a study of singing and phrasing wonderful melodies and Witold Malcuzynski leaves nothing to be desired. Great David, thank you!
Lebhafte und wunderschöne Interpretation dieser spätromantischen und fein komponierten Klavierstücks im relativ freien Tempo mit klarem Anschlag und effektiver Dynamik. Wahrlich hörenswert!
This is a fantastic performance of a marvellous piece!! The heartbreaking melancholy of the main theme is mixed with heroic moments (this combination is typical of the polish spirit, Chopin docet),and here the genial pianist is at his very best!! The piece is written in a late romantic style, very much reminiscent of Scriabin and Rachmaninov, and Malcuczinsky is a sublime interpreter, one can clearly hear how much he identifies with the mood of this little "poem"! Thank you for these intense and sublime moments of passionate music!! I guess this is one more Lp to have at any cost,I surely will love all of it!!
This man has a magic touch,he's really fantastic!! Sadly he's not always mentioned among the greatest Chopin interpreters, and he'd surely deserve this special mention!! The other pianist(not universally well known, too) who would deserve a special mention for his superb Chopin recordings is Raul Koczalski!!
Superb performance of Macuzynski ! I may be prejudiced but the Polish pianists of those days made unforgettable performances of Chopin's music. Thank you for the music and the memories.
Kräftige doch wunderschöne Interpretation dieser romantischen und perfekt komponierten Fantasie im relativ freien Tempo mit klar artikuliertem Klang des technisch perfekten Klaviers und mit möglichst effektiver Dynamik. Genialer Pianist!
One of my teachers would say that the Mazurkas were the REAL Chopin. Another of my teachers, Jan Gorbaty, a native of Lwów and a student of the illustrious Russian pedagogue Isabelle Vengerova, also described the Mazurkas as the most difficult of Chopin's works to interpret properly. Correction: this piece is in the key of C minor, not C-sharp minor. I believe Malcużynski was a protégé of Paderewski. Pianists from slavic backgrounds, Polish and Russian, seem to have an innate feeling for the Mazurkas, especially the characteristic rhythm and use of rubato.
Überzeugende und wunderschöne Interpretation dieses romantischen und fein komponierten Klavierwerks im relativ freien Tempo mit kräftigem Anschlag und effektiver Dynamik. Wahrlich hörenswert!
