Led Zeppelin - Killing Floor

Review by Dylan Schneider

Killing Floor is one of Led Zeppelin's earliest albums, released in 1969. It is a blues-heavy album that showcases the band's raw energy and virtuosic musicianship. The album features covers of classic blues songs by artists such as Willie Dixon and Howlin' Wolf, as well as original compositions by the band.

Led Zeppelin's performance on Killing Floor is nothing short of electrifying. Vocalist Robert Plant's wailing vocals are perfectly complemented by Jimmy Page's searing guitar solos, John Paul Jones' funky bass lines, and John Bonham's thunderous drumming. The band's chemistry is evident in every track, and they sound like a well-oiled machine.

The album's standout tracks include "You Shook Me," a slow-burning blues number that builds to a frenzied crescendo, and "How Many More Times," an epic track that showcases the band's ability to seamlessly transition between different musical styles and tempos.

As always, if you have any Led Zeppelin recordings, photographs, or footage that you have taken – whether they circulate or not, as upgrades are welcome – please send us a message at dogsofdoomliberations@gmail.com. :)
Dazed from this show is god damn out of my mind (especially Violin Bow Guitar solo part is the BEST one ever), definitely best pre-73 versions ever. Not only that it's also top 10 or even 5 versions of all time.
This is top 3 shows if you ask me. Page is having one of the best shows of his live career, ngl I put this show over a lot of his 73 shows, we rarely see Page playing like this.
I came back again, and it’s 1.27.23. This show is Excellent!!
May I please ask you for a download?
You have been very generous, and I hate to ask.. but I really, really want this brilliant FLAC.
Please!
It’s okay if you deny, but how will you ever know if you don’t ask..
X
"four and half hours" this would be their longest gigs ever easily
I was there that night,,,,,One of the few shows that John Bonham used 2 bass drums...
Just read that at one on these Boston Tea Party concerts (July 23-26, 1969) Zeppelin played 2 shows, one day on night…anyone know if this is accurate? Anyone know if both of these shows were recorded? Thanks in advance.
Zeppelin rules!!
I love how the drum solo has about 10 endings!?
Madness in the Pat's Delight solo !
Bonzo with Double Bass here is beautiful. ?
This is the Holy Grail as far as drummers are concerned - a recording of Bonham with 2 x Bass drums. I can almost hear the other 3 off stage during Pat's Delight conspiring the demise of the second Bass drum!
Baddass double bass drumming!!???
All guitar ? only ?!
This is one of the best live versions of the lemon song I’ve ever heard
How many more times is Ridiculously Out of This World … ??⭐️
Page is gacked to the giles!!The band is trying to catch up to him all night-this is one of those "out for blood" shows. As great as this is it is still a bit less than their peak @ Winterland April 25/26 in '69
I just did some research on this gig .. Perfect Timing! Love this ??
A real upgrade! Thanks a lot!
Just caught the show....Superb Mr.Bootlegger & special thanks to Ed! What an EAR GRABBER! My favorite standouts on this show undeniably Killing Floor & Dazed/ Pat's Delight & How Many More Times ! So many cool pull offs & extra lyrics I lost count. I agree one of the best gigs. Patty was Invincible & Berty charming & mesmerizing. Fantastic picture ? ????? ? Kris IL ????⚡??
21:04 Percy tributing Keith Relf (Shapes of Things)
Boots, you’re awesome! So many now useless nights in the Capital Records lot, and swapping cassettes with strangers. No, thems times were fun, and thank you for bringing it on home again!
Thank you
Robert's power is hard to believe. He was in a class all by himself.
We cannot go back to the past...but the past can come to us. Unbelievable is that Zeppelin doesn't sound like “things from the past”, its sound is beyond time, the years go by and everything remains so fresh, current. What an incredible sound. Thanks for bringing these gems to us Boots ??
