Review by Mitch Adams

Duets With Spanish Guitar, the collaborative album by Laurindo Almeida, Salli Terri, and Martin Ruderman, is a beautiful and captivating collection of traditional Spanish songs performed with skill and grace. The album features Almeida's masterful guitar playing, which blends seamlessly with Terri's rich and emotive vocals and Ruderman's impeccable piano accompaniment.

The album opens with the romantic and passionate "La Paloma," followed by the hauntingly beautiful "El Vito," which showcases Terri's impressive range and Almeida's intricate fingerpicking. Other standout tracks include the lively and rhythmic "Malagueña," the soulful "Granada," and the melancholic "Adiós Muchachos."

Throughout the album, Almeida's guitar work is simply stunning, with his nimble fingers dancing across the strings and producing a range of textures and tones that perfectly complement the vocals and piano. Terri's singing is equally impressive, with her powerful voice conveying a deep sense of emotion and passion in every note. Ruderman's piano playing is also outstanding, providing a solid foundation for the guitar and vocals while adding his own unique flourishes to each song.

THANK YOU FOR THE UPLOAD.
wonderful
Thanks. I have this from when I was 16 but no machine to play it on anymore. My and many of my friends favorite listening record ever.
wonderful
Wonderful!!!! Thank you for bringing back these old lovely musical memories. One of my favorites in my teens when I lived in USA.

Love!
Thanks so much for posting this, it was a favorite of mine when I was very young.  When I searched for it this morning I found it right away:  "Duets with the Spanish..."
This was one of my parents' staples for dinner parties - love it!
Had this cassette in the mid -90's and proceeded to learn it all by ear on guitar.. which still to this day is one of the most frustrating things to do, due to the drop d tunings and fingerings of extended chords.. Bach is easier than this in some ways... Committed it to memory on guitar back then.. and it was a hell of a undertaking ..and it slowly comes back.. but some one I transposed from G minor up to A Minor.. to overcome having to tune the 6th string to D..and the inherent added difficulties of re-fingering extended barred chords, etc. This is a frustrating bitch to learn "by ear..."
Save yourself the hairloss and frustration and learned already tabbed versions.
Other than all that..yes very unique Beautiful regional folk songs primarily to Spain.. reminds me of my beautiful lovely days raising my beautiful kids from babies, throughout the 90's..
Loved the prelude in E Minor! I've played this on piano, but I also play classical guitar and daughter plays flute  - might try doing it this way. :)
This is one of the initial batch of three albums that my mother gave me/ chose for me when she bought me my first personal record player back in the early '60s. It is my oldest owned record and one of my very top favorites EVER. Bachianas Brazilliaras No.5 has NEVER been better performed than by Laurido and Salli.
Wonderful music. You'll find the album on iTunes.
Thank you, thank you! I grew up with this album in the Seventies. It was part of my father's collection but it has since been lost. Ah, such sweet memories.
Just came across this. My parents had this record in the '60s and I heard it a lot around our home. Love it. Thank you!
Thank you for posting this fabulous album on youtube.com
I adore the musical combination of Salli Terri's beautiful voice and Laurindo Almeida's wonderful guitar. I have listened to this album, Duets with a Spanish Guitar since I was in my twenties. I have enjoyed it for so many decades.
I think I heard Salli Terri singing the Villa-Lobos piece in the background of a scene in 50 Shades of Grey which was recently on HBO. It is hauntingly seductive and sublime music
Thank you so much.....What a treasure to listen to this again. When I was young this was one of my dad"s favorite albums. I remember snuggling up to him on the livingroom floor listening for hours....while our family haf some quiet time together.
One of the great albums, of any kind. I listened to this over and over as a child in the 1960s. Thank you for this preservation. Love the "vinyl" noise, too!
i HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS CD FOR YEARS, THANK YOU!!!!
