Japandroids - Celebration Rock

Review by Tiffani Torrez

Celebration Rock by Japandroids is a thrilling and energetic album that is sure to get listeners pumped up and ready to rock out. The Canadian duo, comprised of Brian King on guitar and vocals and David Prowse on drums and vocals, deliver an explosive collection of anthemic tracks that are full of raw power and emotion.

From the opening track, "The Nights of Wine and Roses," to the closing number, "Continuous Thunder," Japandroids never let up on the intensity. The songs are fast-paced and full of driving guitar riffs, pounding drums, and catchy sing-along choruses that will have listeners shouting along.

What sets Celebration Rock apart from other rock albums is its unapologetic optimism and celebration of life. The lyrics are filled with references to youth, freedom, and the joy of living in the moment. This is evident in tracks like "Adrenaline Nightshift" and "Younger Us," which are both anthems to the power of youth and the thrill of living life to the fullest.

About 12 years late to this party, but this band is awesome!
I came across this album by chance and decided to give it a shot. The band came up as one of those "if you like this you might like this too" lists. When I put it on I wasn't expecting much and what I found was riveting. I couldn't turn it off. Every song sounds like its the last gasp before the power goes out, cramming in as much as possible at a frantic pace. It's sort of Born To Run speed, that reckless abandon that you hear on the drums for BTR. This was the first time in AGES I listened to something brand new from start to finish and not only did I not turn it off or skip around, I didn't want to. Wonderful!

Drinking in the tour van in the good ol' Commonwealth of Marpus? That's 20 years in the clink big boys. See you soon.
First time hearing them. Love it! Kinda sounds like modern day Replacements mixed with The Libertines.
This video has 2 million views in 8 years? Artists with half the talent get 2 million in a couple hours. Quit bitching about a lack of good music when you aren't even looking for it.
