Review by Tobias Hägglund

David Bridie's album Wake is a stunning showcase of his musical talent and creativity. The album features a collection of beautifully crafted songs that are both uplifting and introspective, showcasing Bridie's ability to blend different musical styles and genres seamlessly.

The album opens with the hauntingly beautiful track "The Wisdom Line," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. Bridie's rich vocals and the intricate instrumentation create a sense of depth and emotion that carries through each song.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The One Who Lives in the Dark," which features a driving beat and powerful lyrics that speak to the complexities of human relationships. Bridie's vocals are particularly impressive on this track, showcasing his range and emotional depth.

Another highlight of the album is "The Last Dance," which features a beautiful piano melody and poignant lyrics about the passage of time and the inevitability of change. Bridie's vocals are particularly powerful on this track, conveying a sense of longing and nostalgia that is both haunting and beautiful.

Listened to this before I went out to bat in the semi finals a couple of seasons ago. We actually won! I only made 12 runs but that's not David's fault. Great track!
Powerful message
Difficult and beautiful
Looking forward to seeing and hearing the performance at our Winnipeg Folk Festival this weekend.  Very powerful!
i'm just channelling LuxaFlex can you confirm the origin of these awnings Please?
More like a kick in the guts.
Let them land, let them stay. Time for this policy to self immolate.
March in March folks, stand up and fight.
The more time that passes under this government, the stronger this video becomes.
Almost there....Not quite convincing!
Try again perhaps?
Dumbest video clip ever haha. He burns to death from a little lighter fluid? Really? People just stand there ans watch? Really?
you can get more info on the company involved in the Manus Island detention centre by looking up the company Serco Group on wikipedia....scary stuff!

Haunting and realistic insight into the psyche of politicians and public servants who really believe they own the planet. Australia, poor fellow my country! Good on you David, you've already said it, To be silent is lying!!!
Beautiful work David.! Congratulations! Not only appropriate but timely and compelling. This is also the story of every Tibetan who self immolates as their country is consumed by
Chinese colonialism. I love it .....
"You should never mix your drinks!"
"The people who have lost the most are the ones who hate the least"~ such a powerful line. Amazing song, astonishing video.
Oh wow, too graphic for me.
I wasn't expecting that!
Brilliant David, topical, meaningful.....and, a great song.
Incredible!!! Well done!
Woww, what a powerful Video. Loved it!!.
Great song, powerful video. Well done.
One of the best music videos i've seen in along time. Beautiful, tragic and cathartic.
4 watches. Broken jaw. I hope that extends to more.
They might be outsourced :)
Might need to knock it down to 720p for easier playing as default. Great song/video and more so, words. Well done.
Wow.

That doesn't pull any punches.

I was expecting something like 'Deliverance'-type bushies from up the Snowy shooting bushwalkers, stuff like that, but this nails it.

One small quibble - the HR woman says 'company' regarding the counsellor, but it's a government document folder he's holding. Shouldn't it be 'department', or 'section'?

Liked it a lot.
A few moments right after your recital in Banff. Thank you so much, wonderful song. I've already bought your CD!!!!
Beautiful clip for a beautiful song
For me, the version on 19 Easy Pieces is far more emotionally charged.
