Blues singer and guitarist, born August 22, 1923, in Leasburg, North Carolina, died October 22, 1953, in Newark, New Jersey (heart attack during back surgery).
He recorded for Acorn in 1950 (released as by Carolina Slim), for Acorn/Savoy in 1951 (as Jammin' Jam, and Lazy Slim Jim), for King in 1951-1952 (as Country Paul), and again for Savoy in 1952 (as Lazy Slim Jim). To add further to the confusion, composers credits are sometimes to Paul Harris, and his King recordings have been reissued as by Paul Howard!
