Review by Nur R

The Albeneri Trio's latest album, Espana, is a stunning showcase of their virtuosic musicianship and deep understanding of Spanish classical music. From the first notes of the opening track, "Asturias," the trio's technical prowess and emotional depth are on full display, with intricate fingerpicking and soaring melodies that transport the listener to the sun-drenched landscapes of Spain.

Throughout the album, the trio's interplay is impeccable, with each member contributing unique flourishes and textures to the compositions. Guitarist Javier Garcia-Martin's nimble fingers dance across the fretboard, while cellist Miguel Jimenez-Cortes adds a rich, sonorous depth to the music. Pianist Juan Carlos Garvayo anchors the trio with his precise rhythms and dynamic range, providing a solid foundation for the other instruments to shine.

The album features a mix of original compositions and arrangements of classic Spanish pieces, including works by Isaac Albeniz and Manuel de Falla. Each track showcases the trio's versatility and range, from the fiery flamenco rhythms of "Granada" to the haunting, melancholic beauty of "Recuerdos de la Alhambra."
