- About Me: My name is Rocio De Vertiz, my friends call me Ro. I am 18 years old and a freshman at CSUN. I was born in Cordoba, Argentina. My family and I moved to the United States when I was 5 years old and we've lived here ever since. I graduated from El Camino Real High School located in Woodland Hills. I am most passionate about music and film, which is why I think it would be smart to pursue a career in that field, but recent events have inspired me to take a different path. In October of 2013, I was diagnosed with a blood disease called Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. I go through a series of blood analysis, bone marrrow biopsies, and chemotherapy but I'm happy to say that I am well and healthy again after a year and 4 months of treatment. Because of my illness I have been interested in the field of nursing. I want to help others like they helped me. I am excited to see where college takes me.
