About Me: Aaron Abrahamson Cote recently returned from a tri-continental tour with "The Neptunes" aboard the Holland America Line.
Originally from Rhode Island, Cote obtained a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance and Minor in Religion from Butler University before attending the University of Illinois as a Percussion Graduate Teaching Assistant. Cote graduated from the U of IL with his Masters in Music.
Aaron Cote can be heard backing singer/songwriter Michelle Cruz. The group performs regularly throughout New England, and has been featured on television numerous radio stations throughout the greater Boston area.
Along the way, Cote has worked in numerous aspects of the music performance world, including performances with Bobby McFerrin, The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, The Bang on a Can Allstars (with Glenn Kotche of Wilco), Mark Morris Dance Group, Star Search Winner Kenny James, Canadian Idol Runner-Up Theresa Sokyrka, Recording Artist Davie Howes, The Echoes of Swing, members of Roomful of Blues, and many more. As a solo percussion and piano dance accompanist, Cote has worked with the Indianapolis-based professional company Dance Kaleidoscope, and as a regular accompanist for dance studios including (but not limited to) Butler University, the University of Illinois, Anderson University, The Jordan Academy of Dance, Regional Dance of America Midwest and The American College Dance Festival Association.
His teaching experience includes private instruction, courses for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Butler University Percussion Camp, the Butler Community Arts School, Indianapolis Public Schools, INergy (a division of Music for All), to name a few.
Cote's major instructors are Jon Crabiel, Ricardo Flores, Moussa Bolokada Conde, and world renown marimba virtuoso William Moersch. Cote has also studied with Nancy Zeltsman, Jauvon Gilliam, Paul Yancich, Orlando Cotto, and many more.
