Review by Peter TEMEY

The album Six Questions by Turbans is a mesmerizing blend of traditional and modern music. The band has managed to create a unique sound that is both fresh and nostalgic. The album features six tracks, each with its own distinct character and flavor.

The opening track, "On My Way," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its upbeat and catchy melody. The vocals are soulful and the instrumentation is rich and vibrant. The second track, "The Turban Twist," is a nod to the band's name and features a groovy beat and infectious hooks.

The third track, "The Shrine," is a hauntingly beautiful ballad that showcases the band's versatility and depth. The fourth track, "Turbans in Space," is a playful and imaginative instrumental that takes the listener on a journey through the cosmos.

The fifth track, "Six Questions," is the title track and is arguably the standout song on the album. The lyrics are thought-provoking and the melody is hauntingly beautiful. The album concludes with "The End," a melancholic yet uplifting track that leaves the listener with a sense of hope and optimism.

Cool post, Ron, of this later recording by the Turbans! Cash Box gave it a B (Good) rating in their January 13, 1962 issue (favoring the flip with a B+ or Very Good), saying "Fella asks six what-happened-to-our-love questions in this appealingly essayed beat-ballad." Billboard (same date), on the other hand, considered "Six Questions" to be the A-side and selected it as a Spotlight Single of the Week (Strongest Sales Potential of all records reviewed), commenting thus: "An attractive rockaballad is sung neatly by the lead here, while a femme group pops a catchy phrase in at the right moment every so often, and the backing supports him smartly."
