The album "I Can't Help Myself" by Teen Queens is a delightful throwback to the classic girl group sound of the 1950s and '60s. The Teen Queens, made up of sisters Betty and Rosie Collins, had a brief but memorable career in the late '50s, and this album collects their most popular tracks, along with some lesser-known gems.
The standout track is, of course, the title song "I Can't Help Myself," which was a Top 10 hit in 1958. Its catchy melody and playful lyrics capture the innocent charm of the era, and Betty and Rosie's harmonies are pitch-perfect. Other highlights include "Eddie My Love," a wistful ballad that showcases the sisters' emotional range, and "Red Top," a rollicking rockabilly number that will have you tapping your toes.
One of the album's strengths is its variety - there are upbeat dance numbers, tender ballads, and everything in between. The production values are top-notch, with lush orchestration and a crisp, clear sound that brings out the best in the Teen Queens' vocals.
