Review by Isaias Peralta

The collaboration album between the Supremes and the Four Tops, "You Gotta Have Love In Your Heart, I'm Glad About It," is a soulful and uplifting experience that showcases the immense talents of both groups. The album features a mix of original tracks and covers, all of which are delivered with passion and precision.

The lead vocals from both Diana Ross and Levi Stubbs are particularly impressive, with their powerful voices perfectly complementing each other. The backing vocals from the other members of the groups also add depth and texture to the tracks.

One standout track is "River Deep, Mountain High," originally performed by Tina Turner. The Supremes and Four Tops put their own spin on the classic, delivering a dynamic and energetic rendition that is sure to get listeners dancing.

American soul and R&B group, recording during the 1960s and 1970s. For releases by Diana Ross & The Supremes or variants of that please enter under The Supremes with the appropriate artist name variation. (1961 to 1970) (1961 to 1977) (1961 to 1967) (1961 to 1962) (1967 to 1972, 1974 to 1976) (1970 to 1973) (1972 to 1973) (1974 to 1977) (1976 to 1977) Hugely successful female vocal group formed in 1961, after initially after being called from 1959 to 1960. Their best-known and most stable lineup was Diana Ross, Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson, in which configuration they became Motown's top act of the 1960s, though of that line-up only Wilson remained in the group by the time of the 1970s disco incarnation represented here. The Supremes changed name in early 1967 to Diana Ross & The Supremes. Motown president stated that the name change was done so that Motown could demand more money from live bookings, but rumors began to spread of an approaching Diana Ross solo career. At that time member Florence Ballard had begun drinking and occasionally missing performance and, by June 1967, was replaced by Cindy Birdsong, a member of Patti LaBelle & The Blue Belles. In January 1970, Diana Ross & The Supremes gave their final performance and Ross began her solo career. Jean Terrell replaced Diana as the lead singer and thereby renaming the group back to The Supremes. Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 (Performer).

Jean, You’re SUPREME! And that Levi - he’s the TOPS!
Jean Terrell with powerful and awesome soprano vocals.
Now this song is taking me to church.
I think if "you know who" over at Motown had backed up The Supremes under Jean Terrell, the new Supremes would have gone so much further....Lovin' this sound....Something reminiscent of the "5th Dimension".
Excellent Jean Terrell.
Jean Tyrell and Levi Stubbs, talk about a musical marriage made in heaven.
