Review by Nannette Ricaforte

Oh Monah If I Didn't Have You by Roy Fox And His Band is a delightful album that captures the essence of the swing era. The album features 14 tracks, each one showcasing the band's exceptional musicianship and Fox's smooth vocals.

The album opens with the title track, a catchy tune with a playful melody that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Other standout tracks include "I Got Rhythm," "Sweet And Lovely," and "Lullaby Of Broadway," all of which highlight the band's talent for swing and jazz.

Roy Fox's vocals are a highlight of the album, his smooth and velvety voice perfectly complementing the band's lively sound. The album also features some impressive instrumental solos, particularly on tracks like "The Peanut Vendor" and "Stompin' At The Savoy."

Comments

I didn’t know modern record players could play these really old records. I thought they needed a phonograph because of the different needle they used.
Al Bowlly's banjo pllaying jollys the whole thing along.
Andy , I have the same Garrard 401 /SME combination - also this record which was part of my late father's record collection, and this particular one I ' adopted ' when I was about 5 years old and have loved it ever since, also Al singing ' If I Didn't Have You ' on the other side.I think this pressing must have fame for the tightest run-out groove on a 10" in history - it always fooled our magnificent Dynatron auto radiogram by making the pick-up come off the record side prematurely !.
This is rocksteady???
ANDY  fantásticas musicas ainda hoje a moçidade compran em cd e dvd remasterizados parabéns amigo uma musica melhor que a outra
Legend has it that it was this record's success which saved the infant Decca company from folding. And also introduced the public to the sound of Lew Stone's future signature tune. Not to mention the novelty of fade in/out.Quite a disc!
One of my faves of all time Andy, my late dad had this in his collection and I played it just after he died far too early in life , one of Al's best and still brings a tear to my eye !
One of their best.
