The Complete Recordings by Robert Johnson is a must-have for any serious music collector or blues aficionado. It is a timeless classic that will continue to inspire and mesmerize listeners for generations to come.
Everything ever recorded by Robert Johnson is right here. And it is one fantastic set. As you listen to the music, you can only imagine the tortured soul that recorded this music. Legend has it he sold his soul at the crossroads in order to play guitar like he did. Some of this music is light in nature and some of it is downright frightening. The guitar playing is just unbelievable. It is hard to believe that one person did this without any overdubs. The booklet inside is also very informative with notes from Keith Richards and Eric Clapton. Because of the nature of the recordings, it sounds very rough. But, that is also part of the charm of this music. Overall, a superb box set.
