The (Pre)Residents - Baby Sex

The (Pre)Residents' album Baby Sex is a unique and experimental musical experience. The album features a blend of electronic and industrial sounds, with distorted vocals and eerie instrumentals. The tracks are unpredictable and often unsettling, taking the listener on a journey through a twisted and surreal world.
The album's opening track, "Baby Sex Intro," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its distorted, glitchy soundscapes. The following tracks, such as "Six Things to a Cycle," "Baby Sister," and "Walter Westinghouse," continue to push the boundaries of conventional music with their unconventional structures and off-kilter melodies.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Constantinople," which features haunting vocals and a hypnotic beat. The song builds gradually, adding layers of instrumentation and effects to create a mesmerizing and immersive listening experience.

- "Baby Sex is another experimental reel-to-reel tape which has never been release (in its entirely) in any form. Portions of this 37 minute album were recorded live at the Boarding House in San Francisco on October 18, 1971, and also at radio station KHSC-FM (Arcata, California) during a live interview. The shocking and herewith censored front cover illustration for the tape box was taken from a kiddie-porn advertisement from Denmark.

About The (Pre)Residents
US avant-garde group based in San Francisco.
The official inception of the Residents was the release of Meet The Residents in 1974, but members of the group had worked together since 1969 or perhaps earlier. The band is known for its wide range of named guest stars and collaborators, its multitude of concept albums, its ambitious multimedia, audiovisual, and stage projects, its highly reclusive nature (with all its public relations handled by ), and the mystery surrounding much of its activities, from its history since 1972 to the identities of its members.
The band has consistently related that it took its name from a rejection letter that it had received from Warner Bros. Records. They sent the label an anonymous demo tape, the letter thus simply addressed them as "Residents."

I know the story goes that the Residents were terrible musicians but one of them (Hardy Fox I presume) is one hell of a pianist!
You can tell from "Deepsea Diver Song" that they were Holy Modal Rounders fans, and that's awesome!
there's something very special about these recordings knowing that this group would eventually evolve into the residents
