Review by Thomas Burdett

The album Roumanian Rhapsody by the Philadelphia Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestra is a magnificent collection of classical music that showcases the virtuosity of both orchestras. The album features the works of Romanian composer George Enescu, including his two Roumanian Rhapsodies.

The orchestras' performances are outstanding, with a perfect blend of precision and emotion that brings Enescu's music to life. The Philadelphia Orchestra's interpretation of the first Roumanian Rhapsody is particularly noteworthy, with its sweeping melodies and intricate rhythms. The National Symphony Orchestra's rendition of the second Rhapsody is equally impressive, with its lush harmonies and rich textures.

The album also includes Enescu's Suite No. 1 for Orchestra, which is a beautiful and evocative piece of music. The orchestras' handling of the Suite is masterful, with each instrument contributing to the overall sound in a unique and meaningful way.
