Matraca Berg's album South Of Heaven is a stunning display of her songwriting skills and vocal prowess. The album features 11 tracks, all of which showcase Berg's ability to tell compelling stories through her lyrics and melodies. The album's title track, "South Of Heaven," is a standout with its haunting vocals and haunting guitar riffs. Other notable tracks include "You and Tequila," which Berg co-wrote with Deana Carter and has since become a hit for Kenny Chesney, and "Fall Again," a beautiful ballad that showcases Berg's emotional depth. Throughout the album, Berg's vocals are strong and emotive, conveying the emotions of each song with authenticity and grace. South Of Heaven is a must-listen for fans of country music and songwriting.

I don't know of a song that's so true, our farm land is getting smaller and smaller, and farmers are a dying breed, and I wish with all my heart America would support their farmers.
Nothing hits me more powerfully than, "What will be my harvest now?" A question we should all ask ourselves.
This is such a beautiful song and video.
Hey Don .. the original is always the best!
Charity Chappel, Alabama, 1950's..........thanks for taking me there, if just for a moment
I have a hard time keeping my eyes dry for this wonderful song. I first herd it on a Trisha Yearwood album. I am 75 but it brings to me memories of my Grandpa's farm and the good times I has there as a child. Days of family, cousins, aunts & uncles, fields, crops, hot weather and country dinners. The day I had to sign the papers to sell the place as one of the heirs I paid a last visit to it. The old house was vacant and seemed so much smaller to me that it did as a child. I cried like a baby that day when I recalled all the times with family I spent there. This song captures my feeling for that place I will carry to my grave. What a gift this song is to me.
amazing words, from our hearts
I'm not ashamed to admit that I wasn't ready to unpack all this emotion... Absolutely beautiful. The metaphor were natural, the emotion was palpable, and the imagery was PERFECT.
Sometimes you discover a Star so bright, that it occurs impossible that it was already there before.

OK, Belgium is rather far away from Memphis and English is only my fourth language in daily use. But singer/songwriters with these qualities should be known all over the world.
Just heard for the very first time three of your songs and you broke my heart already a thousand times, Matraca Berg.
