Manntis - Sleep In Your Grave

Review by Tomasz Jankowski

Sleep In Your Grave by Manntis is an intense and powerful album that showcases the band's impressive musicianship and songwriting skills. From the opening track "Axe of Redemption" to the closing song "Reflections Through Fire," the album is a relentless assault of heavy riffs, thunderous drums, and intense vocals.

The band's sound is a mix of metalcore, thrash, and death metal, with elements of melody and harmony that add depth and complexity to their songs. The guitar work is particularly impressive, with intricate solos and riffing that show off the band's technical prowess and creative flair.

The lyrics are also a highlight of the album, with themes of betrayal, revenge, and redemption that give the songs a sense of urgency and emotional depth. The vocals are raw and powerful, with a mix of clean and harsh vocals that add variety and contrast to the songs.

Comments

USA's Manntis released an album before disbanding: 2005's Sleep in Your Grave is a clone of Cannibal Corpse, Trivium and Killswitch Engage.
I've been seeing these type comments quite a bit but I must agree. A Dozen Furies didn't have shit on Manntis. I was so disappointed when Manntis didn't win Battle for Ozzfest.
2021 sobreviví al covid!!
How doesn't this song have at least a mill views ? one of my first songs I learned to play on guitar when I was 17 im 33 now still amazing
Not sure if any members are still following this channel, clint if you are, any chance of getting the mr. Meaner demo from highschool on something other than cassette
Filmed at Rubel Castle of Glendora, CA
I don't remember the exact year or how old I was, but it was the year that jackass 2 came out on DVD and I was maybe 12 or 13, and these guys did a show at a local bar in bend and my Dad paid the owner a couple hundred to let me sit through 20 minutes of it, and Manntis was my first real concert.
I remember when this was on like... metal equals life That I got back in a hot topic, ... and now it’s about to be 2020 and I still come back to jam with manntis. It brings a ton of nostalgia for me and idkw

This band had an excellent sound and good concept behind its lyrics. I’m sorry to see they didn’t end up getting bigger than what they did. It’s just another god forbid circumstance in the end. :(
