Review by Charlotte Healy

Western Organ, the album by Clancy Eccles, is a delightful collection of tracks that showcase the versatility and creativity of the legendary Jamaican musician. The album features a blend of soulful organ melodies, groovy basslines, and catchy guitar riffs, all of which are expertly arranged and produced to create a unique sound that is both classic and contemporary.

The album opens with the upbeat and funky "Herbsman Shuffle," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. Other standout tracks include the soulful "Fatty Fatty," the reggae-infused "Don't Brag, Don't Boast," and the groovy "Mighty Quinn." Throughout the album, Eccles' vocals are smooth and confident, perfectly complementing the instrumental arrangements.

One of the most impressive aspects of Western Organ is the way in which Eccles seamlessly blends different genres and influences. From the bluesy guitar solos on "Tribute to Drumbago" to the jazzy organ riffs on "Mama Look Deh," Eccles demonstrates a mastery of various musical styles and a willingness to experiment and innovate.
