Review by Ivonne Manning

Little Jimmy Scott's album, Bravo Profiles A Jazz Master Little Jimmy Scott, is a remarkable collection of jazz standards and original compositions that showcase the artist's exceptional vocal range and emotive delivery. The album features a range of jazz styles, from the upbeat swing of "Pennies from Heaven" to the soulful balladry of "I'll Be Around".

Scott's voice is truly unique, with a haunting quality that draws the listener in and holds their attention throughout. His ability to convey emotion through his vocals is particularly impressive, and his renditions of "Someone to Watch Over Me" and "Over the Rainbow" are particularly moving.

The album also features some exceptional instrumental work, with standout performances from saxophonist David "Fathead" Newman and pianist Mulgrew Miller. The arrangements are tasteful and understated, allowing Scott's voice to take center stage while still providing a rich musical backdrop.
