Unlike their compatriots, Konono No1, this supergroup of Congolese musicians do not hail from the same tribe, but rather from five separate tribes all of which contribute to their relentless, hypnotic harmonies. The traditional instruments of likembe, xylophones and heavy percussion form a majority part of this 25-piece musical collective, which keep alive the sounds and rhythms of their indigenous culture. This aside, the repetitious tracks leave this listener intrigued but not entertained.
