Julian Cope - The Unruly Imagination

Review by Marcel Brinkkemper

The Unruly Imagination by Julian Cope is a highly imaginative and eccentric album that showcases the artist's unique style and creativity. The album is a mix of psychedelic rock, folk, and experimental music that takes the listener on a wild journey through the mind of the artist.

The album opens with the track "Psychedelic Odin," which sets the tone for the rest of the album with its trippy guitar riffs, haunting vocals, and mystical lyrics. Other standout tracks include "The Great Raven," which features a catchy melody and a driving beat, and "Soul Desert," a haunting ballad that showcases Cope's emotional range as a singer.

Throughout the album, Cope's lyrics are full of vivid imagery and poetic language that paint a picture of a world that is both strange and beautiful. His use of unconventional instruments and production techniques adds to the otherworldly feel of the music.
