About Josef Matthias Hauer Steffen Schleiermacher
Austrian composer and music theorist born March 19, 1883 and died September 22, 1959. He developed a system of 12 tone composition in 1919, independently and before that of Arnold Schoenberg. Unfortunately, he did not receive the recognition that Schoenberg did, and his music was labelled degenerate by the Nazis.
