About Jonatha Brooke & The Story

After learning to play guitar at the age of 12, she felt that a career as a musician was inevitable. She started writing songs in college and formed The Story with fellow Amherst alumnus Jennifer Kimball. The group made two albums, "Grace in Gravity" and "The Angel in the House". 1995 brought her first solo record "Plumb". Jonatha released her second solo album (Ten Cent Wings) in 1997. She recorded her "10 Cent Wings"-tour and released "Live" through her newly founded imprint, Bad Dog Records. In 2001, Bad Dog released her second indie CD, "Steady Pull".

Soft and kind...
There's an angel in your house
This auto played while I was stressing about getting my finals down. So glad it did!
The woman understands pain. And Joy, anger, betrayal ... ALL of it.
For nearly 30 years I have rarely been able to understand why such talented true ARTISTS like Jonatha are so underappreciated in America. The only explanation I can come close to is what Arnold Schoenberg once said about art and the masses. She is truly a national treasure and crosses the pop to art threshold in just about every piece she has created.
The music, of course. But that bob (hint of Julie Andrews?), those eyes, that dress! Wow.
dissolving into smoke at 2:12. badass!!!
Brilliant work from brilliant people and it still stands up to the test of time.
OMG I was SO into this album in my late 20's and early 30's. One night I was driving home from a gig in the backwood roads of NH (scarey!) and found a station playing this and Kevin Gilber's THUD in the same drive... talf about mind f&&king blown for a Berklee Grad trying to make it in music. Changed my life in a way, honestly!
Thanks to the talents of Michael Nesmith! I never really learned the lyrics, other than the chorus. Always thought you'd be smiling during this song. Absolutely LOVED this album.
Wow. I saw the last 30 seconds of this on TV in 1995 when I was 7 or 8. The melody has always been in my head but I never knew what the song was until today.
I love it! One of the innumerable superb songs written by, IMHO, the most talented and beautiful (inside and out) woman in pop/rock/folk music in the last 40 years.
Damn you Apple Music for not having this
Has a special spot in me lil pea pickin' eart.
yes
Wow… SO great to see all of these back-catalog videos. Who were all these women, anyway? :D And I love that you worked with Mike!
Been one of my favorites for many years!
discovered you on WXPN in Philly back in th 90's ... i wore that CD out, well almost............
Brilliant and undated by its age (from someone who only discovered her sublime music in the past fortnight!)
Thank you soooooo much for posting this!
Why did they take so long to upload the video?
