Reached #31 in the Cashbox survey, September-October 1953.
Yep, remember this one! Lol! The other one was on the Flip side. Enjoyed it then, and today, still enjoy it! LMAO!
@Quarkman0 It was Clap Your Hands along with Proud New Father on the flip side of It's in the Book.
Oh yes, thank you! I never really liked that side, perhaps that's why I couldn't remember it!
Thanks for posting! Way, way back in the 60s, we had the 78 of "It's In The Book" / "Grandma's Lyesoap". But those were the only 2 tracks I ever heard by this guy. (I think the 78 got cracked... but, if memory serves, decades later, I found both sides on a CD.) Never heard this one before. One more reason I love Youtube!
Thank you Hayley so much! Haven't heard this for 55 years (along with "It's in the Book"). But what was on the other side of this? My memory fails me!
thanks for the great memories of my younger days. I have been trying to these great old comedy cuts for years. thank -you hayley1963 for them
This was played at my gran's funeral on tuesday! I quite like it! X
I just found 'Clap' in my Dad's records. I also have 'It's In The Book'. Both are on 1952 78's.
So much fun.
Well done Hayley!! A nice Christmas present!
I enjoyed this bit of humor when it was new and now that it is available here on UTube. Thanks.
I have always enjoyed this funny little song
