Comments

He sounds like Bobby Vee a little bit; Sonny James had a hit with this song also a few years later.
Very good song, so hand made, from the time of "mono" music
What a wonderful little song.
I was 13 when this was a hit. Loved it then and love it now. Classic oldie.
Great to hear this song again, still gets you humming the tune for days , great little song sung by a very good artist,,
With that marching sounds & horn breaks, I've always felt this was a guy returning home after service in foreign lands, only to find his woman had not even bothered to write him a dear John letter.

Shout out to all you service men who helped keep the Soviets out of Europe in those days !!

This is my great uncle, my grandmother's baby brother. She passed away this summer, and when my mom and I visited her grave a few weeks later, we listened to this song on the way home. Glad they get to be together again.
It’s one of those “Hey Ya!”
It’s become an obscure evergreen and when it pops up, it still grabs and brings us back!!!

Always loved this song, Katelynn. Be proud.
Thank you soon much for these songs they sure bring back memories!!
Got a lot of play on Luxemburg in '63; deserved to do better and still sounds good.
Sonny James did this song for the country chart later
On the 39 cent label, Hit, Bobby Russell did a version of this song but that was it as far as this popularity until his song "1432 Franklin Pike Circle Hero" came along, as well as his marriage to actress/singer Vicki Lawrence (The Carol Burnett Show").
